Palmer Point is the historic designation used in A Long Time Ago: A History of the Atkins-Paynter and Allied Families for the neck of land situated between Keats and Palmer Springs along the lower Roanoke River and Nutbush Creek in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.
Several children of Joseph Henry Atkins and Adelia Jackson Paynter were born in this community, and it serves as the living stage for the celebrated Nutbush Creek Buck Story.
