Funeral services for N. B, Couch, 67, who died Thursday at his home, 1131 Massachusetts Avenue after a brief illness, will be held at the East End Christian Church at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. J. L. Hogan, assisted by Rev. J. W. Lollis.
Rev. Hogan was called from Lynchburg where he is assisting in a revival for the funeral. He will return to Lynchburg tomorrow.
Mr. Couch first became ill Wednesday, death following swiftly. Until his retirement a few years ago, he was connected with the Columbian Paper Company having been in its employ since 1907.
He was born February 8, 1864 in Russell County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Couch. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Dr. S. C. Couch and Noah Couch of Cleveland, VA, Baster Couch, Coalwood, VA, A. K. and G. W. Couch, Bristol, Mrs. Rosa Musick, Clinchfield, and Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Musick, Artrip, VA.
He was first married to Miss Liddy Musick who dies many years ago. The following children survived this marriage: Albert H. Mendota; Charles W., Inman, VA; Otis, Dunbar, VA; D. S., Berwind, WV; and Mrs. Ella McFarland, Williamson, WV. A son, John, died in 1908.
In 1897 Mr. Couch was married to Miss Mary Lula Shupe, daughter of Floyd Shupe, Wallace, VA. She died a year ago. Surviving children of the second marriage are: H. D. William, Virginia, and Ruth Couch and Mrs. Naomi Hughes, all of Bristol.
Following the services this afternoon interment will be made in Mountain View Cemetery.

Friends and neighbors will serve as flower bearers.
